Unless someone knows differently, the 502nd Ord Det is the predecessor of the DSP 2/56. When I visited the DSP 2/56 sometime in 1972 it was occupying the same facility that the 502nd did. It even had some of the hand-painted signs (about 20" x 30"?) still over the doorways to several areas. (PFC Louie Scotellaro painted them about 1960.)
