Air Defense Artillery

....found the attached picture of the 524th Ordnance Company. This picture was taken in June or July of 1979, shortly before the unit and the 1/43rd ADA were deactivated. I can remember most of the names of the folks on the front row. I can remember the sections that most of people worked in even if I can't remember the names.

From left to right:
FRONT ROW - Harry Stauffer, Shop Operations NCO (Harry transitioned to IHAWK and was assigned to the unit in Seattle. He retired and I think he went back to Alaska); ??, Launcher Section NCO; Roger Stockwell, Tech Supply NCO; ??, Unit Supply Sgt; me, Cdr; 1SGT Resario; Gale Hagensick, Shop Operations Officer (Gale entered the Army in 1942 and went to England with a radar built by MIT. He was a Private); John Stubbert, Signal Section Officer; Kurt Kachler, Launcher and Engineer Section.

Tom Avery provided this information:  The third man in from the left on the second row from the bottom was SSG David Scott. Dave and I worked together in New Equipment Training (NET) at RSA from 80-83. Dave and I were assigned to curriculum development in both the Roland SHORAD and SGT York Gun Systems. We lost track of each other and sadly I learned from his former wife after I retired in 90, that Dave died of cancer.
