It's been a long time. Would like to say hi to anyone that served with Nike's at 502nd Ordnance Detachment, Pirmasens Germany & 566th Ordnance Detachment, Spangdahlem, Germany from 1964-1965.
I am interested in learning more about the 197th Ord Detachment in Alameda, CA. Is there a history available? Has it been decommissioned? Is it currently used for anything?
I publish a newspaper, Ecobyte. I also am doing research for a book. I am interested in the military history of the SF Bay Area.
Great site! I'm kind of sad to see so much of HHB and Alpha Batterys are gone. I'm sure Dexheim is gone as well. I hope someday to go back and look around at the area that I have such fond memories of. I will be checking back to see if there are any new additions, perhaps people that I served with.
Webmaster's Note:Barry served in Germany at Dexheim, Bravo Battery and Wackernhiem HBB 2/1 ADA 32 ADCOM in the COMMO section with an MOS of 31M20 and a rank of E-4 from June 75 to June 76.

I was with the DSP when it changed from the 193 to DSP 5th BN, 1st ADA. We were at Wiesbaden Air Base, across the street from the airborne school. I came back later (76-79) as the maintenance officer of A-2-1 next door to the DSP. I had some good times with some great people.
I was with the 4th Ord Company from Nov '64-Jan '67, serving as a clerk. I stumbled onto this page because I am planning to go back to Germany in the Fall and am interested in going back to Miesau as a side trip. I had some GREAT times there, met a lot of GREAT people, all of whom have scattered over the years. The C.O. at the time was Albert F. Gleim, formerly from, I believe, Ohio. I can start naming off the CWO's who were there, as well as a few of the SGT's, but I won't. As was noted by someone else on this roster, Pershing and Hawks also were repaired at the Depot. The X area held many of the warheads. Our survival time if the balloon ever went up was in minutes because of the size of the ammo dump and what was contained there. Great site!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not a nike guy. I am an SSBN missile guy. Interested in things Nike because of our new efforts to set up a real missile defense. It is up to you guys to make it happen!
I was stationed at Bristol, RI PR-38 from Nov 1956 to Jun 1963 as an IFC radar/computer tech. In 1963 when I left the only other enlisted IFC tech still there was SP6 Peter Flint. Does anybody know anything about him or CWO Thomas Schultz who was there at that time? Also am looking for any info on SFC Charles (Chuck) Armstrong who was a IFC tech there prior to June '63? thanks, Bill homepage: http://msnhomepages.talkcity.com/YosemiteDr/w2hyn/W2HYN.html
